About Savara Systems

Two brothers.
One standard:
exactly right.

Savara Systems was founded on a simple conviction — that African organisations deserve embedded systems and AI solutions built specifically for their environment, not adapted from elsewhere.

The founding team

The people behind the work.

Every client at Savara Systems works directly with the engineers who designed their system. No account managers. No handoffs. That is a deliberate choice — not a constraint of our size.

Our story

Why we started
Savara Systems.

The name Savara draws from the Swahili word sawa — meaning correct, balanced, in harmony, and exactly right. It reflects the precision that embedded systems engineering demands, where a tolerance error or miscalibration can mean the difference between a system that works and one that fails in the field.

The African identity is intentional but subtle. Globally pronounceable, technically credible, and carrying cultural depth for those who recognise the linguistic root. We did not want a name that shouts its heritage — we wanted one that embeds it. Just like the systems we build.

We built Savara Systems because we saw a consistent gap: organisations across Kenya and East Africa adopting technology designed for different environments — different power infrastructure, different connectivity realities, different climatic conditions — and wondering why it kept failing them. The problem was not the organisations. It was the origin of the technology.

Our answer is embedded systems and AI solutions designed from here. Tested here. Built to last here.

Our mission
To deliver world-class embedded systems and artificial intelligence solutions to African organisations — built with precision, designed for longevity, and calibrated to local context.

What we stand for

Principles we do not
compromise on.

Precision over decoration

Every element earns its place. In our designs and in our communication, nothing exists without purpose.

Context is everything

We design for the African environment — variable power, intermittent connectivity, heat, and distance. Not as an afterthought. From the first schematic.

Clients over contracts

We educate rather than pitch. We ask hard questions before we write a line of firmware. We stay engaged long after deployment.

Longevity over shortcuts

A system that works in the lab and fails in the field is a failed system. We build for the worst conditions and measure success in years, not demos.

Our environment

The African
environment is
our design brief.

Power infrastructure

We design for brownouts, surges, and unstable supply. Wide-input power stages, over-voltage protection, and graceful degradation are standard — not optional.

Connectivity reality

Edge intelligence that works without a data centre round-trip. Our systems make decisions locally and sync when connectivity allows.

Thermal conditions

Equatorial heat, dusty environments, and enclosed industrial enclosures demand thermal derating and enclosure-appropriate component selection.

Operational context

Systems must be maintainable by field technicians, not just engineers. We document thoroughly and design for ease of service.
